- Prepare 4 - 5 tbsps White Oil
- Take 1.5 litres Water
- Prepare 1 sprigs Spring Onion (optional)
- Get 1 tsp Pre - made Chowmien Spice (optional)
Instructions to make Chinese Chowmein, with chicken, eggs & veggies:
- Chop the chicken breast into 1 inch pieces.
- Put the chicken in a bowl. Add 1 tbsp of soya sauce, 1/2 tbsp Chinese Five Spice Powder, and cornflour. Mix well. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cup the beans into 1 inch pieces. Cut the carrot and green bell pepper into thin strips.
- Finely chop the onion, and crush the garlic cloves.
- Put the water on boil. Add the chowmein, and let it cook.
- In a wok, add 2 tbsp of oil. Then lightly sauté the onion and garlic.
- Next, add in the chicken, and sauté on high heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the three vegetables. On medium high heat, sauté then for about 1-2 mins.
- Carefully, make a hole in the middle of the wok. Use your ladle/spatula to move the chicken and begins to the side.
- Crack the eggs into the hole, add a pinch of salt, and then scrabble. Mix every together.
- Meanwhile, check to see if your chowmein is done. If yes, then drain it.
- Add the chowmein into the wok. Toss and turn everything! Add more oils if required.
- Add in 1/4 tsp of the Chinese Five Spice Powder. Also add in 1-2 tbsp of soya sauce. Mix well, but gently.
- Finally pour in the cooking wine. Add the sugar.
- Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot!
- Optional step 1: Add some finely chopped spring onion. Mix. Serve.
- Optional step 2: Add in the Pre-made Chowmien Spice. Mix. Keep on heat for a minute, and then serve.
