The ingredients needed to make Daal Gosht:
- Get 1 1/2 cups Bengal Gram or Chana Daal soaked
- Prepare 1/2 (1 kg) Mutton Bone-in
- Make ready 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- Take 1 tsp Salt or to taste
- Prepare 1 tsp Cumin powder roasted
- Prepare 2 tsp Red Chilli powder
- Get 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- Prepare 1 tsp Chana Masala
- Take 3 tbsp Oil
- Take 2 Onions finely chopped
- Prepare 1 small bunch Coriander Leaves finely chopped
- Prepare 2 Green Chillies finely chopped
- Make ready 1 tsp Dry Mango powder or Amchur homemade
Instructions to make Daal Gosht:
- Soak Dal for about 3 hours. Boil with little Salt and set aside. It should be firm yet soft. Water quantity should be as minimal as possible. In a Pressure Cooker, heat Oil and saute Onions with Ginger garlic paste until light brownish in colour. Add Green Chillies and Mutton Bone-in now. Mix well and saute for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and pressure cook on high for 8 whistles or as required.
- To this cooked meat, add in the boiled Dal and give them all a good mix. Take care while mixing so that Dal doesn't break up. Simmer on a low heat for about 15 more minutes. The consistency is semi dry. Do not add more water.
- Garnish with lots of freshly chopped Coriander Leaves. Serve piping hot with Rice and any side dish of your choice. Enjoy!
