  1. Get 2 cups Oats
  2. Prepare 1/2 kg Mutton Bone-in
  3. Prepare 3-4 Garlic cloves sliced

  6. Get 12-14 Black Peppercorns, crushed
  7. Get 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
  8. Get 1 tbsp Butter or Oil
  9. Get 1 cup Tomato paste
  10. Make ready 1 Maggi Seasoning Cube
  11. Prepare 2 Litres water
  12. Prepare 1 tsp Salt or to taste
Steps to make Mutton and Oats Shorba:
  1. In a wide and deep cooking pot, heat Butter or Oil. Add Cinnamon stick and Peppercorns first. Next saute the Onions and Garlic for at least 2 minutes. Also don't forget to add a Maggi Chicken Seasoning Cube.
  2. Add rest of the ingredients now including water. Cover it with a lid and let it simmer on a low heat for at least an hour until the meat becomes tender and the soup gets thicker. The more the amount of oats added, the thicker the soup will get.
  3. For a change, you can also add any of your favourite Veggies. In this I have used nothing but Meat and Oats. But I do add some Veggies sometimes. Adjust Salt according to taste and garnish with some freshly chopped Coriander Leaves. This Shorba is slightly on the semi thicker side. It should not be of a thin consistency. Oats render this Soup a desirable thickness and consistency.
  4. Serve hot with any Indian Bread toasted with some Butter. Enjoy!
