I then also added more spices, probably almost doubling the original recipe. Flour, spiced water, onions, potatoes, chickpeas. Fuchka (or fuska or puska) differs from Panipuri in content and taste. To cook chickpeas, soak dried chickpeas in water overnight.
Instructions to make Fuchka (chickpeas in spicy masala):
- If you use can chickpeas no need to boil them. Just add the masala,onion, tomato & coriander first. Mix them well. Then cut the boil eggs in julienne slices. Mix with them. Now add half of the tamarind syrup on them.
- It can be eaten by two ways. One is after mixing all the ingredients it’s ready to eat. Just add some gol gappa (round crackers). Otherwise do a little hole on the gol gappa and then fill it with chickpeas. Now enjoy it with tamarind syrup 😁
The next morning, boil chickpeas in water till soft and can be easily smashed in between your fingers. Bake these spiced chickpeas in a preheated oven to develop the roasted taste. Vegetarian Tikka Masala - Helpful Tips! Do not use overcooked chickpeas in this recipe. Just soak them for few hours and cook until tender, yet firm.
