- Get 1/2 cup gram flour/ besan
- Take 1/4 tsp carom seed
- Make ready to taste Salt
- Take Pinch red chilli powder
- Prepare as required coriander leaves Freshly chopped
Steps to make Bread Roll Chaat:
- First start with potato filling, grate the boiled potatoes or mash it. Make sure there are no lumps.
- Add the spices for potato filling as mentioned above. Mix everything well until combined.
- Now, take the bread slices and trim the edges. Take the rolling pin/belan and roll over the bread to make it thin from all sides equally.
- Now take 1 lemon sized ball of potato filling and spread it evenly on the bread. Leave the edges empty and apply water to seal the edges.
- Roll the bread into a cylindrical shape and seal tightly so that stuffing does not come out.
- For gram flour batter, take the flour and all spices in a bowl. Add some water to make batter. Be careful in adding water, it should not be too thin.
- For steaming, boil 1 glass water in a deep pan. Keep the flame medium and put the greased steamer basket on top of pan.
- Now carefully dip the bread rolls in batter and place on top of the steamer.Cover with the lid and cook on medium flame for 5-6 mins
- After that close the flame and uncover the lid. Let it cool for few minutes and then carefull remove the rolls from steamer pan. YOu can use spoon/knife for help
- Once all the rolls are done, cut them into small rings.Heat oil in a non stick pan and cook the rings for 2-3 mins until golden brown.
- Place the sliced bread rolls on a plate and add tamarind and green chutney on top. Sprinkle sev,peanuts and onion as per your taste.
